ABOUT COURTNEY SAFER

A dedicated member of the Westlake Village Israeli Martial Arts Academy and a certified instructor. Currently a black belt, and working toward earning her second degree black belt, she trains under Master Hezi Sheli, head instructor of the Westlake Village Israeli Martial Arts Academy.

Courtney is among the small group of fighters in the United States chosen to participate in the first IMAA Instructor's Course, consisting of over 100 hours of instructor based training led by Hezi Sheli and Israeli martial arts Masters Arik Abdush and Snir ben Ishay from Israel.

Courtney competed in three of the IMAA championships. She placed second in both 2012 and 2013, and she took first place and the title of "Champion of Champions" in 2014.

Courtney's dedication and passion for teaching provides inspiration and encouragement, especially for young girls and women seeking to develop confidence, physical fitness and self-defense techniques through the study and practice of martial arts.

Courtney earned her bachelor's degree in Organizational Communication with a minor in Business Marketing from California State University, Long Beach. She formally worked as a 911 response EMT. Courtney is CPR and AED certified. She is also a certified NRA rifle instructor.
